AREA OF OPPORTUNITY

Pregnant women often lack the necessary tools and health literacy to effectively ensure and prioritize their well-being throughout the various stages of pregnancy and after pregnancy. The focus is often on the health of the child even though the mothers go through vast physical changes through pregnancy and post-pregnancy.

Nutri: Your personalized health companion. Designed with modernized chain links to adapt to pregnancy-related physical changes, the Nutri Bracelet securely collects and interprets data using clinical-grade machine learning AI on our servers.

Key Insights Driving Innovation

Through thorough design research, we aimed to understand parental competence regarding childhood health and its effects on development relating to long-term well-being. We reframed the problem to focus on women during pregnancy, rather than the child post-birth. This was because we found through research not enough focus on the mother's health during and post-pregnancy.

Way Too Much Data, Seriously

Mothers feel overwhelmed by the data available to them & lack health literacy.

Informational Data Isn't Always Good

Mothers want precise & actionable data custom to them.

What About My Health?

When pregnant, the focus is always on the health of the baby, but rarely is the mother focused on also.

The Mothers Commitment

Expecting mothers are willing to make behavioural changes for their baby's health.

Where Health-Tech Meets Elegance

Nutri redefines pregnancy health with innovative tech and AI, focusing on the mother's well-being. Our wearable non-invasive electro-acupuncture tech monitors 30 key nutrients, enhancing pregnancy nutritional health. Powered by clinical AI, it learns and analyses users' health data, prioritising pregnancy wellness.

The Product

Our group's main challenge was deciding the final product form. We considered various options like a watch, bracelet, necklace, and ring, with differing team opinions. While the ring seemed promising, we aimed to distinguish ourselves from competitors like Oura, amid the saturated smartwatch market. Research revealed user preference for a sleek, adaptable bracelet discreetly accommodating weight changes, leading us to Nutri.

The Key Features

The app is a one-stop health database, syncing effortlessly with your monitoring device to track vital stats such as vitamins, heart rate, activity, and sleep on your mobile device. The user-friendly interface provides quick access, enabling goal setting and monitoring for motivation. Personalized insights and recommendations empower informed health decisions.

The Branding

We aimed to establish a brand that embodies sleekness, elegance, and health while fostering a sense of empowerment. Through our products and messaging, we seek to inspire individuals to embrace a lifestyle that prioritizes both physical and mental well-being.

Key Learnings

Design Research Drives Design

Initially focused on child health, our project shifted to include maternal well-being based on research findings. This change strengthened our design solution, offering a more holistic approach to family health. Our goal is to address the needs of both mothers and children, promoting overall well-being for families.

1

Package Design Begins The Experience

Packaging design sets the tone for our product. While our mid-fidelity packaging design was effective, enhancing it with a more realistic presentation could have elevated the overall experience and further improved our project.

3

Clear Information Architecture

Structuring the app posed a challenge due to the multitude of features we wished to incorporate. In hindsight, we recognize the importance of conducting thorough user and usability testing to prioritize features for immediate implementation and future iterations.

2

Listen To The Users

Listening to our users was paramount in designing the bracelet. We ensured consistency with their desires, particularly mothers, who expressed a preference for a non-branded and inclusive piece of jewelry.
